My sister is 31 years old, and she is the most selfless, resilient, and relentless person I know. If you know her, you know her heart is biggest when she is in the kitchen. She has always had a dream of owning her own restaurant, a dream she started right from her house kitchen on a simple two-burner stove. Even when she moved to a rental space and the business didn't make it, she didn't let it break her. She got right back up and kept trying, because that is who she is. She’s a giver who has spent her life providing jobs for young people in her community and looking out for everyone else, even when she was facing her own uphill battles.
She is no stranger to the hard fights. Ever since she was a young girl, she dealt with illness so severe she couldn't even attend school. She learned how to be a warrior before she was even an adult.
Since August 2025, she has had to call on that strength more than ever. For six months, she has been running up and down, pushing through pain and exhaustion to figure out what was happening to her body. She refused to give up until she finally got an answer. On February 3, 2026, she received the devastating diagnosis: stomach cancer.
But even with that news hanging over her, she hasn’t stopped. She hasn’t even had the chance to begin her own treatments yet because she has been trying to stay strong for everyone else. Early this morning, February 13th, our hearts were completely shattered when we lost our beloved father to this very same disease.
It is an unimaginable weight for a 31-year-old to carry. Right now, instead of resting and preparing her body for the fight of her life, she is the one stepping up to help plan our father’s funeral. She is trying to be the rock for our family while she is facing the exact same battle that just took our dad.
We lost our hero this morning, and we refuse to lose her, too. We aren't giving up now, no matter how hard this fight gets. At 31, she has so many more dreams to chase, so many more people to help, and so many more meals to cook.
We are reaching out to our community to help cover the mounting medical expenses for the treatments she is about to start, as well as the sudden costs of laying our father to rest. Every donation, every share, and every prayer helps give her the chance to stop running for a moment and focus 100% on her own survival.
Thank you for standing with us, for believing in her resilience, and for helping us fight for her life.
