Support Hunter’s Recovery from Ocular Cellulitis

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kindhearted strangers -

This 2025 season of our life has been extremely difficult after the loss of my stepdad, Rob, and now our medical endeavor with Hunter.

Over the last two weeks, our lives have been completely disrupted. We thought Hunter was diagnosed with a viral infection, which was then misdiagnosed with the mumps, and later he was finally diagnosed with ocular cellulitis and worsening sinusitis. He was admitted to Texas Children’s on February 27th and later transported via ambulance to the Medical Center Downtown for a right orbitotomy, nasal endoscopy, and partial ethmoidectomy performed February 28th.

Currently, he is still unable to open his eyelid and has had some residual post surgery swelling. We are thanking God that the infection did not spread to his brain. We aren’t sure if the swelling is due to the surgery with how angry the infection was, or if it is something entirely different. After a plethora of blood cultures and three IV’s later, infectious disease plans to place a PICC line on March 6th due to the infection spreading to his bloodstream. They are averaging an extra 10+ days on IV antibiotics, hopefully having it removed around March 17th.

In addition to hospital expenses and his surgery, he will have ophthalmology follow-ups, PCP visits, ENT follow-ups, and follow-up imaging.

Michael is currently working full time while I have been placed FMLA to support Hunter, which only provides job protection and no income. Currently, my mom and dad are tending to Greyson while he is suffering with a double ear infection.

Hunter’s medical emergency has tested many limits and the strength of our family. He is a strong-willed little man, and is fighting his hardest to get better. We would all love it if you kept us in your thoughts and prayers, especially our two sweet boys.

If you are able, please support Hunter and our family by donating for medical bills, Downtown Medical Center parking, and household adjustments for Hunter’s recovery. We greatly appreciate all of our friends and family, and your continuous prayers through this difficult time.

Please also note that if you do not feel comfortable donating through GoFundMe or at all, you can reach out to us directly.

Thank you again for your support and prayers. ♥️
