3:40PM I received a video call from my buddy Hunter. First time ever. Usually regular calls and texts. First thought… “Big buck down!” Well, that’s not the case this time. It was more like Hunter is down. He climbed up his sticks, went to check everything, strap needed that one famous crank. Crank. He went to step on his stand which he invited many people to sit in on his guided “You can shoot these. But, I wouldn’t” hunts. And the straps decided they’ve had enough of supporting his very successful hunting abilities. Down went Hunter before he even got to enjoy his hunt and have one of those evenings where you just sit and think how blessed you are to be young, healthy, and living a great life with a young and growing family. He crawled 10ft with shattered disks in his spine and 2 shattered ankles to his phone. Here came the helicopter. Just a few hundred yards away from his newly bought house on state land. Fast forward, I’m on a video call with my buddy while he’s laying still with a neck brace and a hopeful smile! He did not ask for this. He asked me to fill his freezer. Which we both laughed and I followed up with “I can try”. If it weren’t for this experienced Hunter, there’d be a lot less meat in my own freezer over the years. Anything can happen to us there. This, that, or just tripping and having a serious accident. If you’re able to donate, thanks. We know everyone has their gear they’re wanting to buy and that Christmas is around the corner. Thanks for your time
