My nephew Hunter is a devoted husband, loving dad, and the sole provider for his family. He has two young children, ages 1 and 4, who mean the world to him. Just three weeks ago, Hunter started a new job, eager to support his loved ones and build a stable future. Unfortunately, life took an unexpected turn when Hunter developed the flu, which silently turned into a strep infection. Without any warning signs, the infection attacked his aortic valve, causing a significant leak that now requires urgent open heart surgery for an aortic valve replacement. This is especially difficult for Hunter, as he already underwent open heart surgery as a newborn due to being born with Transposition of the arteries.

Hunter’s upcoming surgery means he will be away from work for at least six months, and he will not receive any pay during this time. As the sole provider, this puts a tremendous strain on his family, who rely on him for their daily needs. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward covering essential living expenses, car payments, car insurance, phone bill, rent, groceries, diapers, medical bills, and daycare for Hunter’s children. This support will allow his wife, Mashayla, to be with him during the day at the hospital while he recovers. Every dollar will help ease the burden and allow Hunter to focus on his recovery without the added stress of financial worries.
