Hi guys!! My name is Hunter, I'm a trans woman in my 20's living in Texas and I'm seeking help to pay for facial feminization surgery (FFS), which I currently have scheduled for early November of this year. I suffer from severe dysphoria and my face has been a major source of crippling dissociation/depersonalization throughout my life, and has also contributed to a lingering eating disorder which at one point led to my hair falling out from malnutrition. I am confident in my choice of surgeon and know that this surgery will allow me to actually see myself in the mirror and safely go about my daily life.

I am a victim of child abuse and have had no family support for almost a decade. I have undergone a long journey to find stability, which has finally come within my grasp since I began my transition in 2024. However, I have also experienced several major setbacks in that time. In 2025, I was physically assaulted by an unprovoked neighbor with a knife at my apartment, where I was cornered and threatened with death for over an hour. My assaulter continued to escalate over the coming days, and despite pressing charges for assault I was forced to flee when the police did not help and the apartment complex refused to evict him. I had to abandon most of what I owned and became semi-homeless for ~5 months, living in hotels and sleeping on the floor of a friend's apartment. This erased all of my savings, and I am still in debt because of my assault.

Additionally, I will be losing this job at the end of August due to the major funding cuts from the Trump administration which are causing the lab I work for to be significantly downsized. I will be forced to take a pay cut and pay for COBRA over the upcoming months so that I am able to maintain my insurance and receive surgery. In addition to the added cost, this has also taken a heavy toll on my mental health as I am now forced to prepare for a new job in the months immediately preceding my surgery.

I have received overwhelming support from everyone on Bluesky in my time on the website which I will never forget and be forever grateful of. The fundraising goal consists mainly of the surgery cost (picture attached) and the required 2 week hotel stay in the expensive coastal city where I will receive the operation.
