Update 9/29/2025

I have gotten the part I needed to replace replaced, I have gotten the oil change done, and I was going to go do the emissions test and register the car tomorrow. However, after speaking on the phone with someone at the DMV, they told me it will cost "under $300" but couldn't give me a concrete number. I cannot afford this amount as I expected it to be far less than this. This is the last thing I need to get me car legally drivable. Anything helps.

I just wanted to give a quick update on the situation. When the money so far, I have bought the part I need to hopefully get the car fixed. I have a friend who is going to help me replace it was well. With that in mind, I have lowered the goal down to $600, as I still need an oil change and to pay for the emissions test/registration. I really appreciate everyone who's helped out so far, it means more than I could ever say.

Hello, my name is Hunter. For the last year and a half, I've been DoorDashing to make ends meet. Recently, I've been offered a position at Raytheon, but my tentative start date isn't until October 27th. On September 1st, my Check Engine Light came on in my car due to my Fuel Sensor needing to be replaced, and I am unable to get it fixed. My car's registration has expired, and in order to renew the car needs to pass emissions. So I am unable to work DoorDash, and with my new job potentially taking anywhere from 3-8 weeks to even get started, I am in a rough spot. This GoFundMe is to help pay for my car repairs/registration so I can work in the interim until my new job starts. If I am unable to work, it is likely my brother and I will be unable to renew our lease in October, and we will end up homeless with nowhere to go. I have been selling my personal figure collection, and donating plasma when I can, but it hasn't been enough to fix my car on top of my bills. I hate asking for help, but I really don't know what else I can do. Thank you.
