Support Hunter's Brave Battle with Crohn's

Hello! My name is Dawn and I'd like to share a bit about what life has been like for some incredibly important people over the past 2 years. My son Mykel & his wife Emily have 2 children, Hunter just turned 12 & Abby 9. Roughly 2 years ago, Hunter began having several different symptoms and was going to his pediatrician at least once a month. The doctor over the course of at least a year never put the symptoms together or referred them to any kind of specialist. They decided on their own to take him to Arnold Palmer hospital where they ran every test they could & came to the diagnosis of Crohns disease. Unfortunately with the amount of time that passed & the aggressive nature of his Crohns, a lot of damage was done. Over the past year he has had hospital stays, meds, procedures & more testing. Mykel & Emily have been so strong throughout this whole thing, rarely asking for any kind of help from any of us. Hunter has kept a brave face even when we knew he was scared. Abby has tried to help her brother but she is also afraid of what is happening.

We are at the point now where this funny, smart beautiful child is now 66 pounds & very weak so he needs to get a g-tube placed for feeding and an ileostomy to try to help his gut heal. He is again putting on his brave face because it is who he is. Mykel & Emily are not the type of people to ask for help, in fact, they are always the helpers to anyone who may need it. I know how hard they work & trying to juggle all of this is hard enough but to add all of these medical bills on top of it is almost unbearable. I decided to try this to see if the people that care for them could help in any way to lighten their burden. If you are unable to help at this time, it is understandable & if that's the case we ask only for an encouraging word & a share so we can spread this and hopefully get them some relief so that more of their effort can be spent loving on each other rather than stressing about the medical bills.
