Hunter is an incredible educator who has positively impacted countless lives. He teaches upper school theology, astronomy, and geometry—subjects as diverse as his personality. Known for his kind heart, infectious sense of humor, and boundless energy, Hunter makes learning an experience his students will never forget.
Beyond the classroom, Hunter is a truly remarkable person. He has a natural gift for connecting with others, always ready to lend an ear or offer words of encouragement when someone is in need. His friends describe him as a beacon of light—someone whose infectious laugh can lift anyone's spirits, even on the hardest days. Hunter loves exploring the outdoors, spending time with his friends and family, and diving into fascinating conversations about everything from philosophy to his hilarious student stories. He has a genuine curiosity about the world and an enthusiasm that draws people in, making everyone around him feel seen and valued.
Recently, Hunter received the tough news that he has Ewing sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Despite this diagnosis, he remains as positive and full of life as ever, showing the same courage and resilience that he's always encouraged in his students. Hunter will soon begin chemotherapy, which is expected to last about 9-10 months, inevitably reducing his energy and ability to work—something that is incredibly difficult for someone as active and dedicated as he is.
We are starting this GoFundMe to help Hunter with medical bills, loss of income, relocation to be closer to his treatment center, and expenses during this challenging time. The treatment will stretch into 2025, meaning that we will need to hit our deductible again next year, which is a primary reason for this fundraiser. As a teacher, Hunter has always been there for his students, and now it's our turn to be there for him. Every donation, no matter the size, will help Hunter focus on his recovery without the added burden of financial stress. Even if you can't donate, sharing this fundraiser and saying a prayer for Hunter during this time would mean the world to us.
Hunter is an amazing friend, teacher, and human being. Let’s rally around him, just as he has always done for others.
