Support Hunter "Thunder" Nunnelley's Fight with Brain Cancer

Hunter's Story:
This summer, everything changed for USAF Fighter Pilot, Hunter "Thunder" Nunnelley. What started as severe back pain and numbness in his legs quickly became a life-altering diagnosis. In late July, a visit to the Emergency Room revealed a large mass on his spinal cord. Doctors wasted no time—Hunter needed immediate surgery. While everyone prayed for a benign result, the news was much harder to bear. Hunter was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. He has SHH-activated Medulloblastoma that has metastasized throughout his Central Nervous System (Leptomeningeal Metastatic Disease) with tumors along his spinal cord and in his cerebellum. His treatment will include six weeks of radiation and 6 months of intense chemotherapy since this is high risk due to the metastasis.

Since then, Hunter and his family have been on a relentless journey, seeking guidance from specialists across three states. Today, Hunter is receiving critical treatment at The Ohio State University, battling this cancer with incredible strength and determination.

About the Nunnelley Family:
If you’ve ever had the privilege of knowing Hunter and Kacie, you know they are a family full of love—for each other, for their children, and for God. Their faith has been their anchor through this unimaginable challenge, reminding them that their lives are meant to glorify the Lord, even in the hardest moments.

Hunter married his high school sweetheart, Kacie, on June 4, 2017, and together they have two beautiful children: Jax, who’s 3, and Lux, almost 2. Hunter is a devoted husband and father (although we all know Kacie runs the show, and Hunter would be a bit lost without her!). Their love for each other is truly inspiring, and their grace in this season of life is nothing short of admirable.

Hunter’s dream of flying the Raptor F-22 fighter jet in the United States Air Force came true after years of dedication and training. Kacie has been by his side every step of the way, and she’ll continue to be, even as life takes on a new shape.

Supporting Our Wingman:
Hunter was previously stationed at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia when their world was turned upside down. Because of the complexity and urgency of his treatment, they’ve relocated to Ohio, where Hunter is undergoing radiation therapy and preparing for six months of chemotherapy.

Many people have reached out wanting to know how they can support this amazing family. For those of you who wish to bless them financially, we decided to set up a GoFundMe. These donations given will go directly to Hunter and Kacie. The family will keep everyone updated throughout this journey and, through it all, they give God all the glory.

Your kindness, whether through donations, prayers, or words of encouragement, means the world to them.
