Hi, my name is Stacy and I am raising funds for Hunter Baker, a sweet mama-to-be with terminal lung cancer. I own Kutting Edge Salon in Logan, Utah, where Hunter worked as a receptionist. She and her husband, Tyson, have been married for four years. In February 2023, Hunter was diagnosed with sarcoma in her leg. After 25 radiation treatments and surgery, she was told the only way to be cancer-free was to amputate her leg, which was done in June of that year.

Hunter’s amputation hasn’t stopped her. Since then she has surfed, snowmobiled, done rock climbing, downhill skied, learned to run and so much more. She has a tattoo on her arm that says “Hold on to Hope.” And that’s exactly what she is doing.

In April 2025, Hunter's lung collapsed for an unknown reason just six days after she and Tyson found out she was pregnant with their first baby. After several more lung collapses, she had surgery in June and the surgeon discovered the cancer had returned. This time it had metastasized to her lungs and chest cavity.

Hunter began chemotherapy at 20 weeks pregnant and has completed four rounds. She is almost 32 weeks along. Baby Boy Baker is thriving and Hunter is monitored daily to see when she will deliver. As soon as she has her baby, her overload of hormones that have been keeping her alive, will crash. Hunter is fighting for her life and will begin intense treatment as soon as her son is born.

Our hearts are breaking and we are raising funds to help with her enormous medical bills, as well as future bills they will incur because Baby Baker will be born prematurely.

In addition to GoFundMe, the Kutting Edge Salon is doing a fundraiser Nov. 1 and proceeds for all haircuts, blowouts and washes and styles will be donated to Hunter and Tyson. Diapers and baby supplies are also being collected at the salon through the end of the year. Please help us hold on to hope and relieve some of the financial burden on this new little family.
