Support Hunter and Darrell's Recovery Journey
Donation protected
As many know, Hunter and Darrell were in a bad car accident Friday night. They both were life flighted to different hospitals. Both were sedated and on a ventilator. Darrell woke up on his own and is off the vent. Darrell suffered a lot of non-life threatening injuries. Hunter remained unresponsive and on the ventilator. They tried yesterday to wean him off the sedation, but he became very agitated from them trying to get blood draws, so Drs decided in Hunters best interest to go back on heavy sedation because they wanted to relieve some cranial pressure. Hunter does have swelling and a small brain bleed. This morning after his CT scan at 5 am, it was decided again to cut back the sedation and try to get him off the vent and to wake up. We were successful in getting him breathing on his own and getting him off the vent and the sedation meds. He is responded to pain stimuli and is started to respond to our voices but isn’t ready to open his eyes yet, ad we appreciate everyone that has reached out to us, he is also very saddened to hear from people that we know, that they heard that one of the boys passed seat. That is 100 percent false. With them being in different hospitals in different cities, our family has been stretched thin, and it was very unsettling to hear those things. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers, this will be a challenging time for us all, so keep them prayers coming.
