Hi, I’m Lori Quill, Vice President of the Humane Society of Charles County. Today, I am asking you to stand with us. Every animal that comes through our doors is waiting—not just for shelter, but for hope, compassion, and a second chance at life. We have provided that second chance for thousands of sick, abused, and homeless animals.

I am making a desperate plea for help. As a nonprofit organization, and the only no-kill shelter in Charles County, we are asking our community to step in and help us in our time of need. Unfortunately, we are in real danger of closing our doors for good after 50 years of serving this community. We are funded solely by private donations and do not receive funding from the county, state, or the national Humane Society. Our resources are depleted, and we find ourselves working tirelessly to find ways to stay afloat. Please help us continue our lifesaving work.
