Support Hulme Family Altadena Fire Recovery
Donation protected
As some of you are aware, the Eaton Fire in Altadena has ravaged one of the neighborhoods I grew up in and has upended families, including the home of Mark and Shanna Hulme, and their children Riley (20) and Lincoln (18) - lifelong friends that have been family to me for years. Thank you to those of you who have already reached out requesting how to best assist the Hulme family, who recently lost their Altadena home of six years in the Eaton Fire. They were able to evacuate safely; however, there is nothing left to recover.
To those that haven't had the privilege to meet them yet, the Hulme family have been a shining example of love and community, quick to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. I can attest to that personally with numerous examples, including their care of me while I was finishing my college education in Long Beach. They are always there for others, and now is an opportunity to offer some help to them. The need and power of community has never been clearer in LA and around the world, and I am blessed to have the best community. Every dollar will help them as they search for a new home in an already highly competitive LA market, search to replace the irreplaceable items that make up a home, while their kids look to make the next step in their education.
More about the Hulme Family
Mark, an architect and accessibility specialist, Shanna, who works in the non-profit sector, and their children Riley (20) and Lincoln (18) are currently navigating the challenging process of disaster recovery. Riley is currently attending college, and Lincoln is preparing to start his college journey this fall. We've established this GoFundMe to assist the family in their recovery efforts.
Please note that GoFundMe defaults to include a percentage tip which can be adjusted in your donation settings if you'd prefer a larger amount of your donation go to support the family. Any contribution, regardless of size, will provide meaningful and much-appreciated support.
If you are unable to donate, we kindly ask that you share this page with your networks. Spreading awareness can be equally impactful in helping the Hulmes rebuild.
We are so grateful for your consideration and generosity at this difficult time, and look forward with hope to a time when these events are in the distant past for all of our friends and affected neighbors.
