Hello! My name is Jacob Smith, a graduating senior at the illustrious Howard University. I am currently studying Communications with a concentration of Television and Film, obtaining my Bachelors of Arts degree.
I am raising funds to complete my senior thesis, UNSPOKEN, a psychological drama that explores Black masculinity and mental health. It is imperative that we continue to create emotionally driven narratives that address the underrepresented issues in today's society, and beyond. In a time when mental health conversations are becoming more normalized, the struggles of Black men remain stigmatized or overlooked. UNSPOKEN highlights the urgent need to address mental health in Black communities, particularly among young men taught to suppress their emotions. This short film aims to break the silence, sparking dialogue about vulnerability and support.
Your contribution to bringing this story to life is greatly appreciated. With this fundraiser, all earning will go directly to the production and contribute to necessities including, but not limited to:
- Production Equipment (Cameras, Lighting, mics, etc.)
- Location Funds
- Crafty
- Film Festival Fees
If you'd like to hear more about the short film and our mission, feel free to reach out to UNSPOKEN's producer, Alana McClellan. And THANK YOU for your support!
