Hello Everyone. After many family and close friends lovingly encouraging us to create a Go Fund Me Page to help alleviate the financial toll this traumatic car accident has taken on our family, I finally decided to ask for the help that is so desperately needed.

As I sat down to write out this story, I never imagined I would be here in this space with such an egregious crime changing the trajectory of our families lives. Marlon is a kind, loving person who has never met a stranger and is now still fighting for his life facing numerous surgeries and a long road to recovery. This has interfered with an over 25-year career with his company. His career speaks to the person he is, a loyal citizen. On May 14th , 2024, Marlon was on his way home after visiting a friend in a nursing home and became a victim of a senseless crime. As a carjacking crime was happening, Marlon was blindsided and crashed directly into before the criminal then hit a tree. Marlon was rescued from the vehicle by being cut out of his severely damaged car and then rushed to the hospital for emergency care. He came in with 7 broken ribs on the right side and all 12 broken ribs on the left side, a punctured lung, fractured pelvis, and a breakdown of kidney function. While being treated, the doctors kept telling the family that he was very sick and may not leave the hospital alive. While under critical care it was discovered through an exploratory stomach surgery that his pancreas was also damaged and that was what was causing so much of his illness. Surgery was immediately scheduled, and his spleen and Gaul bladder were removed as well as the majority of his pancreas. Marlon was placed on a 24-hour dialysis, intubated and had to have a trach placed. He has been through Trauma ICU and is now in ICC unit. Marlon's condition is critical, and the medical bills are piling up. This tragedy has left his wife Pam, a breast cancer survivor, in a difficult financial situation. She is currently on a leave of absence with her employer to be at the hospital with Marlon each day.
