Horse Of Your Dreams Flood Recovery — Help Them Rebuild

On April 6, 2025, the Green River reached a historic flood stage of 68 feet — over 55 feet above its normal level — devastating Horse Of Your Dreams in Brownsville, Kentucky.

This is the worst flood seen there, surpassing even the Great Flood of 1937. Despite modern changes to the river — including the removal of two locks that had lowered water levels by 15 feet — record rainfall across the state overwhelmed the system.

They were able to evacuate all of the horses, including a newborn foal and pregnant mares ready to foal very soon, safely thanks to the water rising over two days. But the rest of the property took a direct hit:

• Barns and riding arenas were submerged in up to 12 feet of water, arena footing will need to be replaced as well as gravel and base for the stalls and walkways.
• Electrical systems and fixtures were completely underwater
• Most power equipment and small tools could not be saved
• The clubhouse flooded, and although we believe the saddles stored in the attic are safe, the interior sustained significant damage including the refrigerator, water heater and washer.
• Board fencing collapsed in multiple areas
• Obstacles and training elements were swept away
Funds will be used to get the horses back inside for training and foaling ASAP.

At this time, the full extent of the loss is unknown — they’re waiting for water levels to drop so they can re-enter safely. We do know insurance isn’t covering any of the loss.

Horse Of Your Dreams isn’t just a farm. It’s a community. A home. A place where people and horses have come together for years to train, heal, grow, and dream. You can see more about them at https://www.horseofyourdreams.com

I’m asking for help to help them rebuild — to restore the barns, replace lost equipment, repair the fencing, and make the property safe and functional again.

If you can give, we are so grateful. If you can share, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

They’ll rise again — with your help.
