Support Hori's recovery from a cycling accident

Hi, we are Allan and Mike, and we are raising funds for our friend Hori, who was seriously injured while cycling the 2024 B2VT.

A few miles before the New Hampshire border, a driver of a black pick-up truck that was driving in the middle of the road made a sudden right-hand turn into a driveway, without using his indicators, and then left the scene.

Our small group of five cyclists had to brake suddenly to avoid crashing into the pick-up truck, and three of the riders hit the asphalt. 2 suffered minor injuries, but Hori was taken away by ambulance and airlifted to UMass Memorial, where he remains in the ICU.

The impact of the fall caused a spinal injury, which he has undergone surgery for. While we remain hopeful that the surgery will allow Hori to regain full function of his legs and arms, he faces a very long road to recovery.

Hori has a wonderful wife who is juggling full-time work, two teenage daughters, and now supporting her husband through this heartbreaking accident. It is uncertain when Hori will be able to return to work, and meanwhile they are facing unforeseen medical and other expenses to manage their new circumstances. They will need all the support the community has to offer.
