Emergency Medical Expenses Not Covered by Insurance

Fundraising Goal
$10,000

Story
I am living with stage IV lung cancer with bone metastases and rely on disability income. Recently, I incurred significant medical expenses after being told by my insurance provider that certain care would be 100% covered. That information turned out to be incorrect due to the structure of my health plan.
As a result, I am now facing over $10,000 in unexpected medical bills, including diagnostic testing, laboratory and pathology services, specialist visits, and out-of-pocket medication costs. These services were not elective — they were necessary to establish care and determine appropriate treatment.
The situation has also contributed to interruption of my cancer treatment, while care coordination and coverage issues are being addressed.
I do not have the financial ability to absorb these expenses. This fundraiser is to help cover emergency medical costs that were not covered by insurance, despite being pursued in good faith.
