This Sunday, November 2nd, I'll be running the NYC marathon with a purpose-- to support Foyer Espoir Les Enfants, an orphanage and school in Haiti that has become a beacon of hope for children in need.

My attention was initially bought to the orphanage by the devastating 2010 earthquake, and a good friend’s close involvement. The need for support remains urgent as the current Haitian instability and gang violence required a recent relocation from their home in Port-Au-Prince to Fort Liberté, in northern Haiti. This was successful due to the dedication of the founder, MarieJo.

For the third year, MarieJo will be travelling to New York City to cheer me on. I am both humbled and honored by her support and grateful for the friendship we have formed over the years.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide safety, education, and hope for these incredible kids.
