Shuvo Rahman here, championing the cause of the Honey Siddique Memorial Hospital nestled in the heart of Chandpur, Bangladesh—a beacon of hope and healing for the local community. As a community-driven institution, it relies solely on private funding to extend essential and critical healthcare services to all, irrespective of financial constraints.
My father, DR. S M Mustafizur Rahman, started this hospital in the memory of his late parents Umme Honey Khatun and S M Siddiqur Rahman to serve the local underprivileged community. Within the hospital's walls, lives are being transformed through critical services such as kidney dialysis, comprehensive obstetrics, surgical support, vision-saving eye care, vital diabetic management, and essential vaccination facilities. 20-50 patients, mostly from imopverished financial background is treated daily in the OPD. Despite the unwavering dedication of the medical staff, financial hurdles pose a significant threat to this mission.
While the hospital has good infrastructure, including fully equipped operating theaters and 4 ICU, 4 HDU units; intensive treatment became dormant due to insufficient funding and high cost. With your unwavering support, the hospital can again activate these dormant resources and extend the healing touch to even more individuals in dire need. It is the only General Hospital for surrounding population of 400,000.
Regrettably, the weight of compounding interest on critial bank loans and the challenge of meeting month to month payroll loom large. Without governmental or NGO assistance, the ability to sustain services is precarious at best.
Your voluntary contributions will not only alleviate the financial burdens but also ensure that our doors remain open to those who rely on us most. Every donation, regardless of size, fuels the mission of providing accessible healthcare to the underserved and the poor.
Please join me, and Dr. Mohammad Shish Rahman, in championing the cause of the Honey Siddique Memorial Hospital. Our aim is to raise $300,000 CAD in total—a sum that will not only clear the debts but also fortify the operational capabilities, sustaining the existing services and perhaps even enabling to broaden our reach within the community. For the first phase, we are aiming to raise $25,000 CAD to activate and increase some our dormant services including ICU. The long term goal is to raise few rounds to ensure the financial health of the hospital, so it can be self-sustaining low cost critical healthcare provider for the community. We are planning on starting a non profit foundation for the long terms sustainibility of this hospital.
