Support Honesti's Forensic Science Journey

I’m Janae and my niece Honesti Emmons, whom graduated high school last year May 2024 (Honor Society Member), (Honor Student) had to unfortunately return home from college in Hawaii due to not being able to afford to pay for remainder of semester. This happened beginning her second semester this past January 2025. Ofcourse her and mom exhausted all measures, but to no avail she was sent home due to deadline being missed. School didn’t provide much resources either.

Honesti wants that forensic scientist degree and was doing so well learning how to adapt to adversity and college/young adult life. Hate for her to return and get discouraged and wrapped up in day to day of adulthood and not being able to go to college and earn degree for her true passion. I do not want her to lose that drive, before you know it years go by and she can’t fulfill that dream in timely manner she expected. Since returning home, she recently has started working at a QuikTrip to attempt to save funds for school herself, while mom and family try to come up with funds. As, even with new year starting end of summer she will still need help financially.

We are asking for any help as far as monetary donations, scholarships grants, leads on any financial help etc. Even any intern opportunity referrals.

End goal: She hopes to return to Hawaii to finish school, however second option is to apply to another cheaper school out of state (closer). Since most GA school does not offer the degree she wants. Either way she has to pay Hawaii school in order to get transcripts etc. or she will be stripped of all her accomplishments and have to start all over with no transferred credits. Which she actually has accepted may be possibility and she still enthusiastic about earning that degree/ finishing school. But still says she will graduate in 3 years as planned as long as she can go back this Fall.

I am happy for that but saddened all at once. Wish I could do more. Know this hurts her at end of day, as she was so excited for school, and being away. She was setting the tone for the other siblings. Her mom has 4 other children to look after including two middle schoolers, a highschooler (off to college in a yr) and a disabled adult child. So Aunty Janae is stepping in hoping you all can have me and her back to see this all the way through. Since unfortunately I am not rich aunty yet, So only so much I can do alone. I take pride in being an aunt, I love and wish the best for all my nieces and nephews. She is no different.

I have attached her final grades, proof of being on Deans List, Balance Due Notice, and a pic of her in Hawaii getting out learning new culture getting to know the Island better. They are holding her transcripts as of now, as she was gone to look for cheaper school to attend. However, now she has to start all over if balance not paid.
