Hi, my name is Sandra, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beloved brother , affectionately known as Homer. At 48 years old, he has endured more health battles than most people face in a lifetime, and despite it all, he’s held on with strength, humility, and heart.

Homer is a lifelong Volkswagen enthusiast. If you know him, you know how much joy he finds in anything VW — from restoring old classics to sharing car knowledge with friends and fellow gearheads. His passion has always brought him comfort, even through the darkest times.

Over the years, Homer has bravely battled cancer multiple times, He later faced stomach cancer, and underwent major surgeries, including the removal of one of his kidneys. Now, his remaining kidney is functioning at less than 30%, and he is currently being evaluated for a kidney transplant. Just recently, he also had to undergo open-heart surgery, making his recovery even more challenging.

Through it all, Homer has done his best to stay afloat, taking on odd jobs when his health allowed. But those jobs haven’t been nearly enough to cover his basic living expenses like food, rent, and transportation to his many medical appointments.

We’re reaching out not because Homer asked us to, in fact, he’s never asked for help. Out of pride and quiet strength, he’s always tried to figure things out on his own, even when he was struggling. But now, the situation is simply too big for him to face alone. As his sister, I know it’s time to speak up and ask for support on his behalf, because no one should fight this hard without a community behind them.
