Holy Tree is a well kept musical secret about to be revealed. Since our stage debut back in 2016, many thousands have already experienced our music live at Ängsbacka Course and Festival center - but we are still to release our first album. Countless times we were asked “Where can I find and listen to your music?”, to which we had to respond again and again that our music only happens live, here and now. We are about to change this and make the music of Holy Tree available to all, at any time, anywhere!

Support the recording of our debut album and embark on a musical journey into presence, into movement, dance and stillness; all the way held by unique qualities of music that is born in the moment. Your support will make sure we can capture some of those moments in recordings that will be made available through your favourite streaming service later this year.

We are working on the recording of the songs, at a later stage we need to mix, and master the album as well as prepare all of the promotional materials needed to help our music to reach the audience.

We are hoping to be able to offer special invites for our upcoming events to all of you who contribute to the funding of the album, so that we can truly be in the music together!

“I participated in – or perhaps more truthfully, was absorbed by – an intimate concert with Holy Tree during a retreat at Ängsbacka. Concert is not really the right word. What unfolded in the room felt more like a kind of mystical experience that is difficult to put precise words to.

The musicians created a soundscape together that felt both very familiar – almost ancient – and at the same time completely different from anything I have heard before. The fusion of the many powerful instruments became something far greater than the sum of its parts.

One of the things that moved me the most was witnessing how the music emerged in the interaction between the musicians. It seemed intuitive, almost wordless. Each musician brought their own unique expression, yet everything blended together into something larger.

At one point I had the feeling that it was not only musicians playing together, but souls. There was a clear sense of respect and care between them that could also be felt throughout the room. I was simply sitting there listening. But it felt as if something in me was listening even deeper. My soul felt excited in a way that was both deeply familiar and completely new at the same time.”

Why crowdfunding?

This crowdfunding is vital to the success of this project! Although working alongside dear friends in this process we still want to make sure that we can offer fair payment for their contribution! We are not able to fully fund this record the way it needs to be made without your help!

We have our engineer and producer, Aron Liedtke, and band members Pierre Corradini, Mia Törngren, Sunniva Brynnel, Sereno Cantaro, lined up. The recording sessions will be mostly live and take place at Ängsbacka to honour the land and community that allowed us to grow and develop our sound over the years. In the production phase we will add some more layers and maybe have some guest musicians that we love working with to add their unique flavours!

The musicians reach with flute and voice and heart for the un-nameable mystery, beauty and grief; the fullness of this human experience. Holy Tree listens as well as their instruments speak and the patient acknowledgement of silence offers a unique texture and depth to the music.
