Support Holly Holt's Vision for Aim and Focus Karate

Aim and Focus Karate has been a well-known, community-based, martial arts establishment for the last 25 years. Based in the vibrant Northwest Austin area, Master Ben Johnson has poured his heart and soul into the school and must close the doors to refocus on his health and his family. It also goes without saying that the COVID pandemic drastically changed the after-school care industry which has made it difficult to stay in the current location, although there is a come back and steady growth...We still need more. It is hard to witness such a reputable and beloved community establishment go through such change, there is a bright, new future to ensure Aim and Focus's legacy continues.

His most senior student and Master Instructor, Holly Holt, is committed to continuing the same disciplined and structured style of training Master Johnson has taught her over the last 15 years. She is the only one who can carry on his legacy at the moment as his most senior student and mentee. She has developed genuine, working relationships with all the students and families and is working hard to maintain what has been built.

She is working to KEEP the same location alive. After observing the current business model of Aim and Focus Karate, she has developed a new business plan which still roots itself in the foundation of Tang Soo Do, a universal and traditional Korean martial art. Continuing the same programs as always (evening Tang Soo Do classes, after-school, and summer camp). Her new business, Golden Hands, will also include NEW weekly women’s self-defense classes, Yi Chaun meditation and flow, as well as yoga practices in the morning!

Lastly, as a professional musician in the Austin area, she plans to make space for a live music/event venue embedded into the zen environment of a dojang/dojo. It will be a space of intimate gatherings to develop togetherness and healing in the local community. She plans to work with practitioners, artists, and educators in the Austin area to bring positive change, mental and physical well-being, and self-confidence. When classes are over, the space will transform and will go from healing the body, to healing the soul. She wishes to transform the parts of the current space to make room for a music center. This will serve mainly the after-school and summer camp programs as part of their music fundamentals education and continuation of practicing discipline, focused concentration, and self-confidence that is also enforced through the martial arts.

Master Johnson has started a school that has become a safe haven for many and continues to transform lives, instilling confidence, self-discipline, respect, and integrity in the Austin community. Master Holt has studied with him for over 15 years and has been teaching for 11 years. She is confident that she can take Master Johnson’s vision and develop it for the next generation.
