Support Hollis' Fight Against Cancer

Life can change in the blink of an eye, and that’s exactly what happened to our family this past week. On Friday, January 24th, my husband, Hollis, went to an Urgent Care after struggling with bronchitis for weeks that just wouldn’t get better. While at the Urgent Care, the physician noticed how pale he was, and requested he get blood work done. Later that night, the doctor called, urging Hollis to go to the Emergency Room immediately since his hemoglobin levels were dangerously low.

When arriving at the hospital, the initial prognosis was optimistic: doctors believed he was anemic or that he may have some possible internal bleeding from an ulcer causing his levels to be low. But after multiple blood and iron transfusions, extensive tests, a scope, a CAT scan, and days in the hospital, the doctors had devastating news — Hollis was diagnosed with colon cancer.

In just a matter of days, our family was turned upside down. The weight of this diagnosis has left our family shaken and devastated. Hollis is the sole provider for our family. Due to the nature of this disease, he will be unable to work as his energy will need to be devoted to his treatment and recovery. Meanwhile, I’m a stay-at-home mom raising our five beautiful children: Liam (15), Landon (15), Aria (11), Asher (4), and Oliver (2). Not to mention, our son, Asher, has autism, and requires additional support and assistance. Now, not only are we grappling with the emotional toll of Hollis’s health, but we are also facing the terrifying financial uncertainty that comes with it.

The money raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to our family to help cover the mounting medical expenses, daily bills, and any other essential needs for our children during this difficult time. Hollis is a man of strength, courage, and boundless love for his family. He has always worked hard to support us, and now it is our turn to support him in their difficult time.
