Holli has been diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal Large B Cell Lymphoma (PMBCL), an aggressive Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. PMBCL is a rare cancer that develops in the thymus gland and lymph nodes of the mediastinum. This diagnosis is just 4 years after she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She was in remission and cancer-free for 3 years, and while doing routine scans, they found a second cancer that they believe is unrelated to the first. Holli will have to undergo 6 cycles of R-EPOCH chemotherapy, in which she is admitted to the hospital for a 5-day long continuous infusion, and this will be done 6 times.
Due to her health and the treatment, she is unable to work during this time. Holli will struggle to pay bills and afford living expenses and will have to rely on family. Holli's health insurance has already denied some claims for treatment and testing, and we are unsure if they will continue to do so. Without insurance, Holli will not be able to afford treatment. Holli remains positive despite her situation. She is currently in school for Respiratory Therapy but will have to take time off due to treatment as well. She loves her job working as a Barista and enjoys spending time there. Holli is hardworking and hates to have to rely on others for help, but she is left with no choice.
If you are unable to donate, we understand and just ask if you could share Holli's story. Thank you so much.
