Hi!! My name is Hollie and I have been in EMS for the past 24 years. I’m currently a licensed paramedic and educator in Michigan. Over the past few years, my passion has also expanded to mission trips and training for disaster relief. I have been fortunate to have been on two international trips to learn from search and rescue teams already.
I recently was offered the opportunity to travel to Israel for a week-long disaster preparedness training with multiple different healthcare disciplines, including learning from their military health professionals. This training is being offered through the American Healthcare Professionals and Friends for Medicine in Israel organization. Obviously, this comes at a cost for travel and the program. The cost includes $2600 for the training and housing, as well as flight costs. The training is less than 2 months away, so that limits the time I have to save and budget, so I’m reluctantly asking for help. I know everyone is struggling, so anything would help lessen the financial aspect for me.
I’m hoping to use this trip as a bridge to also build relationships in order to also do some humanitarian work in Israel in the future as well. I’m looking forward to learning the differences in disaster preparedness by ultimately being in a vulnerable area while doing it.
