Help Us Rebuild After a Fire

In the early morning hours, a fire caused significant damage to a space central to the work and leadership of Hitha Healing House. The incident resulted in the loss of essential materials, healing spaces, and the environment that supports ongoing care for mothers, families, and the community.

The fire occurred at approximately 4:50 AM. We are grateful that no one was physically harmed. While safety was preserved, the impact on our capacity to operate and serve has been substantial.

Hitha Healing House has existed as a sanctuary rooted in cultural care, community connection, and generational healing. The affected space has been foundational to holding this work. This moment marks a disruption, but not an ending.

Why Support Is Needed

The damage caused by the fire has created immediate and ongoing needs. Community support will help address:

Restoration and rebuilding of the damaged space

Replacement of wellness supplies, furnishings, and essential equipment

Establishment of temporary and mobile healing spaces

Continuation of programming so families experience minimal interruption

Improvements to safety and infrastructure as rebuilding occurs

Each contribution supports the ability to continue serving with stability and care.

Our Commitment to the Community

Although the physical space is currently unavailable, Hitha Healing House remains active and present.

We will continue to serve through virtual healing circles and support spaces, mobile programming across Detroit, partner hosted sessions during the rebuilding process, and continued care navigation and crisis support.
