Support Hissy Miss's Fight Against FIP

My 9-month-old barn kitten was diagnosed with the deadly disease, FIP, on Friday, July 5, while at an Emergency Vet office. The tech explained they are not authorized to treat FIP nor do they have any drugs to help; since it’s essentially a death sentence they typically euthanize.

As soon as I heard FIP, I reached out to our local cat rescue, Wild Blue Cats! I explained the situation and they immediately deployed a volunteer to my location with a new FDA approved drug, Mutian, to help fight FIP.

The ER Vet finally sat us in a room and described a grim situation. Hissy Miss, my baby girl, had been in their care for over 4 hours and the doc said her minutes were numbered. The rescue volunteer from Wild Blue Cats asked the doctor if she would please administer the drugs she brought. The doctor agreed to do so as a last-ditch effort.

About fifteen minutes later the doctor returned to the room and explained that Hissy Miss had actually coded… she had no heartbeat and was not breathing. Her team performed CPR, revived Hissy and administered the shot. Within 10 minutes of her little body receiving the medication, she started coming around.

Thirty-six hours after this little girl was lifeless, she is now strong enough to hold up her little head and look around. She is on the mend from FIP! Mutian, a newly approved drug to combat FIP, is extremely successful and also quite costly. The treatment is a grueling 84 days of shots and/or pills plus an additional 84 days of observation. Wild Blue Cats has taken possession of my little girl and is providing this extensive yet necessary treatment.
