The Hingham HAMMERHEADS Are Now in the Top 1% Worldwide — And YOU Made It Happen!
We are back from the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, and we are overflowing with gratitude! Getting your team and robot to Texas was a massive undertaking, and we simply could not have done it without your generous donations, shares, and encouragement.
Competing on a truly global stage alongside teams from China, Australia, Turkey, Brazil, and beyond, your team had a phenomenal run. The Hammerheads advanced all the way to the playoffs, becoming Captains of the 4th Alliance in the Hopper Division. Adding to an incredible season, they also won their fifth honor of the year right there in Houston: the Creativity in Design Award! Your team left everything out there and competed brilliantly against the absolute best.
Because of your support and the students' relentless hard work, Team 5000 completely transformed their standing this season. Just look at this massive leap:
Massachusetts: Jumped from #14 ➔ #3 (out of 71 teams)
New England: Jumped from #36 ➔ #6 (out of 200 teams)
USA: Jumped from #358 ➔ #28 (out of 2,944 teams)
Worldwide: Jumped from #424 ➔ #34 (out of 3,724 teams!)
To skyrocket into the top 1% of the entire world is a testament to the countless late nights and unwavering dedication of this group. Thank you for investing in these students and being the village that fueled our journey.
