Support Hinda Gilli-Elewy's Family through Eaton Fire Loss

Thank you for visiting this page to raise funds to support Dr. Hinda Gilli-Elewy and her family through the loss of their home to the Eaton fire.

I am Joanne Van Boxtel and I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Hinda Gilli-Elewy at Cal Poly Pomona when she was the Interim Dean of the College of Education & Integrative Studies. She was not only a kind, generous, and supportive leader, but she has become a dear friend.

Hinda and her family evacuated from the Eaton Fire in Altadena on Tuesday, 1/7/24. Though she and her and her family are safe, their home is lost. Tragically, her sister's home, which was just 2 houses away, was also lost.

Hinda is one of the most humble and gentle souls I know, so she is unaware of this Go Fund Me effort. However, a few of her Cal Poly Pomona friends and I wanted to do something to help her family through this devastating and unimaginable experience in anyway we could.

All funds raised will be given to the Elewy family to help offset costs for temporary housing (they are currently looking to rent a place), meals, and other essentials. We hope this gift will bless her and her family and provide some hope as they journey through this difficult season.
