Support Hillside Nursery School and Orphanage in Uganda

Donation protected
My name is Johnson Enginel and I am the Principal of the Hillside Nursery and Orphanage located in the mountainous area of mount Maliba Kasese, Uganda! We have 310 ten orphans who rely on our school, not just for education, but for food as well. Poverty and lack of access to healthcare in this remote area of Uganda leaves many children without parents as people struggle to survive and often die early in life from curable medical complications and disease.

My background: I am married with two children. I grew up poor and struggled to get an education. My personal situation that I passed through made me interested in helping the unprivileged humans in the mountainous area like me and those who had even less than me. I started working, earning small funds in 2011 and I decided to start up this orphanage school. We have eight teachers working as volunteers and when I am able, I give them a little funds to help them also.
Though it's a struggle, I am happy to work hard to make sure the school is a success.

I see all these children in need and am driven to do what I can. I have been giving them scholastic materials and food termly since they had no other help. In this course we have a lot of challenges. We don't have much classroom space so many classes are held outside. We don't have enough toilets or a way to store water. We have a garden but struggle to feed this many children.

We would like to build seven classrooms, four toilets, make more than one hundred desks, buy scholastic materials and water tanks. We would also like to expand our small farm by growing more food and adding animals so that we can provide for more children.

With a kind request I call upon any heartfelt person to help support the unprivileged humans and give our children a chance to study in a better environment and get food for proper growth!

Please add me on Facebook and feel free to reach out for more information!

(A note from the poster, Ashley Rowley: Why am I posting this fundraiser? Ugandans do not have access to the GoFundMe web page to create their own fundraisers. Because of my involvement with helping a friend raise funds for another poor village near Kasese, others in the area, like Johnson, have come to me and asked me to to post their projects as well and I am happy to do so. Any money that we receive here goes into my account and is sent to Johnson via World Remit. I am happy to provide receipts if needed. https://www.facebook.com/ashley.rowley.92)
