Support Hillery's Fight for Life

I’d like to introduce you to Hillery. God brought Hillery and I together because she needs help. A lot of help. Hillery had a vibrant life before a terrible auto accident that left her with a broken neck among other injuries WHILE PREGNANT! She had recovered and was back on her way to living when she was struck by some terrible disease issues. She has been on this journey over 5 years, visiting doctors, listening to them tell her she was crazy. She knew she was ill and it has taken this long for them to finally get her the help she needs.

If it had been sooner than later, it might have only been one or two things that needed replacing but now Hillery will need all new innards, i.e. a stomach, pancreas, small bowel, part of her large intestine, possibly her liver! I don’t know what in the world would bring on such a condition and I certainly couldn’t imagine being in her shoes, dealing with all this, all while taking care of an autistic baby, now 6 years old. That’s right! She’s a fighter! She will win this. But she needs your help! She needs the help of every individual that has a spare dollar or two. If you can swing more, that’s awesome. Hillery will need surgery in Miami at the Jackson Hospital. Due to the distance, they want her to stay there in the event of any complications, until she’s discharged of the possibility. That means hotel, food, gas, personal expenses, while still trying to pay what she can back at home. AND have someone to stay with her as well as someone to keep her son! This is a lot for anyone with a family! But Hillery has no one to speak of. A sister that will probably stay and help with her son because he’ll have school. She has a few church ladies that can help, but no one to drive her to Miami. No one to stay with her in Miami. It’s not like she can stay at Ronald McDonald House (that is for parents of kids in hospitals).

Everyone thinks they have problems. Put yourself in this girl's shoes, if you can. The day I met her, I knew she had a serious condition, I just didn’t know how serious. I’m asking my friends, friends of my friends, to please help, whatever you can contribute would be more than greatly appreciated. There are no words big enough for the gratitude.

They are telling her she could be there anywhere from 3 to 6 months!!! It all depends on how her body accepts/rejects the new organs. It all depends if there are no complications. So, I’m aiming for the moon to hope to land among the stars! And even if contributions just come in as she needs them, we will keep everyone apprised of how it’s going. We are looking into AirBnb since it’s cheaper than hotels, and even that, in Miami, is expensive! Then the food, and a caregiver. At least in the beginning, to be there to help prepare meals, help change dressings if needed, or just to call 911 if needed. Please. If you have half a heart, if you’ve never been helped by anyone, I’ll understand. Please, pay it forward. Thank you in advance for all kindnesses.
