Support Hialeah Gardens High School's Journey to Nationals

We are the Hialeah Gardens High School We The People: The Citizen and the Constitution team, and we are honored to represent Florida at the national competition in Washington, D.C., this April 9th! After months of hard work, dedication, and countless hours studying the U.S. Constitution, history, and current events, we proudly won the Florida State Championship. Now, we face our biggest challenge yet, competing at the national level against the best teams from across the country.

Our passion for law, government, and civic engagement drives everything we do. For us, We The People isn’t just a competition; it’s a platform where we explore the principles of democracy and the responsibilities of citizenship. Through research, mock congressional hearings, and thought-provoking discussions, we’ve expanded our understanding of how law shapes our society and our government. We believe that knowledge of our Constitution and active participation in democracy are crucial for the change we hope to achieve in the future. Our dream is to bring this message to the nation’s capital, but we can’t get there without your support.

The We The People program, run by the Center for Civic Education, helps students like us develop critical thinking, public speaking, and advocacy skills. At the national competition, we will present testimony and answer challenging questions before panels of constitutional scholars, attorneys, and judges. This unique experience prepares us to be informed, responsible citizens and future leaders in law, government, and beyond.

However, the journey to Washington, D.C. comes with significant expenses, including travel, lodging, and competition fees. We are actively fundraising to cover these costs so that our entire team can represent Florida with pride. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us closer to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
