15 Year old Hezekiah has always had a good physique by eating healthy and actively playing sports. Out of nowhere, he started having extreme abdominal pain and bleeding during bowel movements. Hezekiah was taken to urgent care and then to the Pediatrician. The wait for a referral for a GI specialist was too long, so Hezekiah was taken to the ER on August 26th. Through an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy, it was found that Hezekiah had a difficult to treat combination of Ulcerative Colitis and Crohns. Through the medication Mesalamine, Hezekiah developed pancreatitis which caused even more pain. The doctors spent a month trying to bring down this excruciating pain. Throughout this time Hezekiah never wavered in his Faith in Jesus. Hezekiah said that this trial was meant for him to grow.

On September 16th, Hezekiah started having stabbing pain in his eyes, unimaginable headaches and constant vomiting. The doctors dismissed it as anxiety, but after a week of Hezekiah and his parents telling them something else was wrong, the doctors did a CT Scan and an MRI. Blood clots were found in Hezekiah’s brain and he was transferred through ambulance to a more specialized hospital. Hezekiah was medically induced into a coma and was prepared for brain surgery. After various attempts to remove the blood clots, the doctors decided to perform open brain surgery. His Left Bone Flap was removed to release pressure that was building up in his brain. Internal bleeding was found in his brain in addition to more blood clots in his brain, neck and arms. Hezekiah has been placed on blood thinners to help with clotting, but is at risk for more internal bleeding in his brain. After being placed on the ventilator, Hezekiah developed MRSA & Pneumonia. His lungs are very weak. Fluid was found surrounding his heart. His blood pressure is very high.
