Last week, Hex Hudosh - beloved sister and creative presence in the LA queer and trans community suffered debilitating pain and rushed herself to the ER. Doctors informed her that she would need emergency surgery to remove her appendix before it burst, which could lead to sepsis and possible death.

Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and Hex is now recovering. However, the unexpected emergency has left her facing significant medical bills from the surgery and hospital stays. On top of that, Hex has had to cancel work, bookings, and appointments while she remains on bed rest for the next few weeks.

Like many artists and freelancers, time away from work means lost income. The combination of medical expenses and missed work has created an immediate financial strain, especially when it comes to covering basic needs like housing and recovery costs.

Hex has always been more inclined to show up for her friends and family and like many of us, finds it difficult asking for help. Anyone who knows Hex knows that she is always working, creating, and showing up for her community. Her home and her heart are open to friends and collaborators alike — a place where people gather, dream, and build together. Hex has always been someone who gives her time, care, and energy to the people around her. Asking for help doesn’t come easily to her, but right now she needs the same care and support she so often gives to others.

Queer and trans folks are under constant threat from a hostile government; it’s imperative that we show up for each other when it matters most. So please give whatever you can in Hex’s time of need so she can focus on healing.
