Thomas is raising this fundraiser for Smit Machchhar, a FlyDubai pilot whose courage helped save an airliner full of people. After Smit was stabbed and suffered devastating injuries, Smit still managed to open the cockpit door, allowing the relief flight crew into the cockpit and preventing the plane from crashing. In the middle of a terrifying and life-threatening situation, Smit acted with incredible bravery and presence of mind. Because of Smit’s heroic actions, countless lives were protected.

Now Smit needs support during a long and difficult recovery from multiple stab wounds. The funds raised will help pay for Smit’s recovery and the care needed after these devastating injuries. Thomas is asking friends, family, and kind strangers to come together for someone who gave so much to protect others. Please help if you can by donating and sharing this fundraiser in support of Smit Machchhar, a true hero pilot. Every act of kindness will mean so much as Smit focuses on healing.
