Herminia Amadeo Santana is my 82-year-old mother, and she has always been the heart of our family. She raised eight children, and despite the heartbreak of losing four of them, she remained a loving, devoted mother and an incredible homemaker. Her home was always spotless, and her cooking brought our family together. Now, only four of us remain—two brothers and two sisters—and we are doing our best to support her through this difficult time.

Recently, my father passed away, leaving my mother alone in Puerto Rico. He was her main source of support, and now she faces the overwhelming challenge of paying for his funeral and covering her monthly bills, like water and electricity, on her own. My mother never worked outside the home, and her income is not enough to meet her needs. I live in Florida and am traveling to Puerto Rico to help, but I have my own bills and cannot provide all the support she needs. My father did not have enough insurance to cover the funeral and other expenses, leaving my mother in a very difficult financial situation.

I am reaching out for help because I believe in the kindness of others and the power of community. As a Christian, I have a lot of faith and trust in my Lord Jesus Christ, and I truly believe that posting this GoFundMe was not my idea, but that the Holy Spirit guided me to do this.
