Hello, my name is Ana, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my husband, Heriberto, and our family. We’ve been married for 9 years, and though we have always dreamed of growing our family, we’ve faced many struggles along the way. For a while, we didn't understand why we were unable to have children, and just as we were starting to grapple with this, my husband's health began to decline.
After many tests and seeking answers, we discovered that my husband has liver damage caused by hepatitis B and years of alcohol abuse before he came to know Christ. Though he stopped drinking, unfortunately, the damage was already done. He’s battled two severe infections that have further harmed his liver, and now, the doctors have told us that his liver is failing. Without a transplant, he may only have 3 to 6 months, or at best, a year, to live, depending on how well he cares for himself.
I’m sharing this with you because, even in this difficult time, we are hopeful. We recently found out about a special program in San Francisco for alcoholics, where individuals can be placed on the liver transplant list sooner than the usual six-month sobriety requirement. This gives us a glimmer of hope and an opportunity for my husband to get the help he needs.
My husband truly believes that God is giving him a second chance. He’s staying strong in his faith, knowing that with God’s guidance, he can turn his life around. He is committed to making this transformation and doing whatever it takes to live a long, healthy life for our family.
However, the road ahead is challenging, and we need your help. The cost of a liver transplant and the medical treatments required is overwhelming, and we are asking for your support to help us raise the necessary funds for his surgery and recovery.
No donation is too small, and every bit of support means so much to us. We are believing for a miracle, trusting that God will provide the strength and resources we need. Our hearts are full of gratitude for your love, prayers, and any help you can give.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Your kindness means the world to us.
Ana and Heriberto
