Support Herbert Billups IV's Journey to Fargo Nationals

Hi, my name is Herbert Billups IV, and I’ve earned the honor of representing Team Virginia at the 2025 USMC Junior Nationals Wrestling Tournament in Fargo, North Dakota, from July 10th to 20th. Known simply as “Fargo,” this is one of the largest and most competitive wrestling tournaments in the world, bringing together the top athletes from all 50 states. I’ll be competing in the 215 lb weight class.

I’m proud to say I’m a 2025 VHSL State Runner-Up, a VAWA Greco-Roman and Freestyle State Champion, a 2024 State Placer (6th place), and a 2023 State Qualifier at 285 lbs. I also placed 2nd at the MAWA Districts (220 Open Division) and 5th at the MAWA South Regionals. I’ve grown and progressed every year, climbing the ranks through determination, discipline, and countless hours of hard work.

When I first started wrestling as a freshman, I weighed 285 lbs and struggled to avoid pins. But through resilience, consistency, and the guidance of incredible coaches, I transformed my mindset, my body, and my skills earning my place among Virginia’s best in just four years.

Wrestling has taught me to stay mentally and physically strong, to keep my head high, and to smile through both wins and losses. It’s been more than just a sport—it’s been a life-changing journey of personal growth and perseverance.

The cost to compete at Fargo is $3,000, which covers travel, lodging, meals, National Team training camp, and an equipment package. Your support will help me finish my high school wrestling career on a high note and carry that momentum into college, where I plan to continue wrestling and major in Film & Video.
