On May 10th, 2025, Herbert Rivera and his family were returning home after picking up a birthday cake for his oldest son, Jabari, who was visiting to celebrate his 10th birthday. 50 feet from their front door, their lives were forever changed when their Kia Soul was struck by a Dodge Durango SRT in a catastrophic collision. The crash claimed the lives of Herbert’s two beloved sons, Jabari (10) and Charlie (4), and his partner, Gail Price. The impact killed the children instantly. It gives the family a small sense of peace knowing that they did not suffer. Their last moments were filled with fun and love.

As Herbert battles through physical pain and grief, the financial burdens are mounting. Funeral expenses for his sons are URGENTLY NEEDED. Medical bills are piling up, as he is still in critical condition. It is unclear if he will ever be able to return to work in construction, a field that has supported his family for years.
