Support Hera’s Fight Against FIP

Hi, my name is Katherine, and this is my cat Hera. I rescued Hera from the organization I work for, Emerald City Pet Rescue, in 2021. She had a lot of problems as a kitten; respiratory issues, polyps, and other medical issues. ECPR got her healthy, and I adopted her and took her home! She hasn't had any further problems, until now.

In the past few days she started acting lethargic, has a low appetite (a HUGE red flag for her!), weight loss, eye discharge and third eyelid exposure, and a fever. I took her into the emergency vet this morning and it's bad news: FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis, a mutation of viral feline enteric coronavirus strains). She could have had it for a long time and it only just started to present itself, or it could have been more recent. It's a complete mystery, as she has not spent a single day of her life outside!

There are medications only recently available (including Remdesivir and GS 441524) which have great promise! Of course, it's very expensive.

I made this GoFundMe because so far I have spent $656.13 at the vet and $612.99 on HALF the medication needed for the 3 month course. I take her back to the vet tomorrow (Update 12/11): +$757.79) and then monthly to make sure it's working. That's already more than my car is worth!

We desperately need help, so please, if you can, donate to save this poor kitty who has had a rough start to life and deserved many more years of being spoiled.
