Help a Loving Mother Fight Cancer for the Second Time

In 2017, our beloved mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Follicular Lymphoma in her bone marrow. For three long years, she bravely endured 74 chemotherapy sessions, 3 rounds of radiation, and finally, a stem cell (bone marrow) transplant in 2020—all while the world was shutting down due to the pandemic. Against all odds, she made it through, entering remission and giving us nearly five precious years of hope and healing.
But on June 29, 2025, everything changed. She was rushed to the ER after experiencing severe headaches and memory loss. An urgent MRI revealed the devastating news: the cancer had returned, this time in her brain.
After multiple exams, MRIs, and PET scans at the Miami Cancer Institute, she was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma of the brain—an aggressive form of cancer. Thankfully, doctors found it early (a small 17mm tumor), and after 6 more rounds of chemotherapy, her scans now show that the mass is no longer there. While this is a tremendous blessing, her fight is not finished—she must undergo another stem cell (bone marrow) transplant to prevent relapse and give her the best chance at lasting remission.
At 66 years old, enduring this battle for a second time has been unimaginably difficult—physically, emotionally, and financially. She had to leave her job because of her symptoms, and while insurance covers some of her treatment, it doesn’t cover it all. Every hospital visit comes with co-pays and uncovered expenses, and with almost daily appointments, the costs are overwhelming. She has been draining her savings just to keep up.
Our mother is a fighter—she has faced cancer twice with courage and faith. Her hope is high, her spirit is strong, and she continues to inspire us with her perseverance. But now, she needs our community’s help.
If you are able to contribute, no matter the amount, your generosity will go directly toward her life-saving treatments, medications, and transplant costs. And if you cannot give financially, we ask that you please share her story and keep her in your prayers.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us in this fight.
