Our 11-year-old daughter was recently in a devastating accident while riding her older brother’s new electric bike. A few streets away from home, she lost control at full speed, slammed on the front brake, and was thrown over the handlebars, landing face-first onto the pavement. The impact was severe — she lost four adult teeth, roots and all, went through her upper lip, broke part of her jaw, both wrists, three vertebrae in her back, and fractured her knee. When we found her, her teeth were still lying in the street. We rushed her to the hospital, and she was life-flighted to a children’s hospital, where she stayed for about a week.
It’s been an incredibly difficult road to recovery, physically and emotionally. She’s already endured so much — and now she faces the next step: major dental reconstruction. She will need oral surgery, braces for 3–4 years, and eventually two permanent false teeth. The estimated out-of-pocket cost is between $10,000 and $15,000 — an overwhelming expense for our family. As her parents, we want to do everything we can to restore her smile and confidence, especially as she enters her teenage years. She already carries scars on her face and body — we don’t want a broken smile to be one more reminder of this traumatic event.
If you are able to help in any way, we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation, share, and kind word means the world to us and brings us one step closer to giving our daughter the bright, beautiful smile she deserves. Every penny donated will be used for Alyssa's dental work. She will be needing dental surgery, then braces, then to false teeth.
