Tammy's new liver needs your help!

We as a family are truly humble for the many blessings that God gives us each day. We are growing rapidly. We currently have 5 children, 4 grandchildren, and more on the way. The patriarch of our family has finally received the news we have been waiting to hear for a year. My wife (Tammy Ackerknecht), incredible mother, awesome grandma/maw-maw, and love of my life found out 1 week before Christmas 2024 that she has checked all the boxes after two extensive visits to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. She has been accepted to be put on the liver transplant list. She was diagnosed with NASH earlier this year. It was determined that is genetic in Tammy’s case. This was after several years of pain and unknown reasons why. Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is an advanced form of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). In Tammy’s rare case this has led to an enlarged spleen, faulty kidney functions, osteoporosis, and even increased vision problems. The spleen is essentially absorbing all her platelets due to the liver’s malfunctions, which in turn is affecting all of her organs. We have been informed by the Mayo Clinic that it is imperative to have this procedure as soon as possible to keep the rest of her organs from being damaged further. After recovery from the initial surgery. We will have to “live” in Jacksonville, no farther than 30 minutes from the hospital for 6-8 weeks. This is due to the extensive complications from transplant surgery. We ask that you donate whatever you can to help in this matter. I, Edwin, will be on short-term disability, which is only part of our normal household income. Any donation will be for medical expenses, temporary lodging, food costs, and supporting our normal home expenses.
