Hi, my name is Ava, and I’m asking for help for someone who means so much to me.
She isn’t just a family friend. She’s someone who has shown up with kindness, strength, and love, even when life has been unbelievably hard for her. And right now, she’s facing more than anyone should have to carry alone.
She has already walked through open heart surgery for coronary heart disease and an emergency gall bladder surgery. Now, she’s in the middle of a fight against stage 2 cervical cancer, undergoing radiation treatments that leave her weak and exhausted. On top of that, she’s dealing with a fractured rib that has caused severe pain and is even affecting her breathing. She was also recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, adding yet another layer to everything her body is trying to endure.
Even in the middle of all of this, she is still working two jobs because she has no other choice. She has run out of FMLA time, and although her body is worn down, she keeps pushing through just to survive. I’ve gone with her to help DoorDash when she doesn’t have the strength to do it alone—and watching that has been heartbreaking.
She has done everything she can to get help. She has insurance, and she has applied for assistance, but she falls into that difficult gap where she “makes too much” to qualify—even after appealing. Meanwhile, her medical needs continue to grow.
Right now, she needs to raise $4,000 just to meet her deductible, not including procedures that may not be covered and medications she urgently needs. There is also the possibility of an upcoming hysterectomy as part of her cancer treatment.
I’m asking you, from the bottom of my heart, to consider helping her. No one should have to fight this hard just to get the care they need.
If you’re able to give, even a small amount, it would mean more than you know. And if you can’t give, sharing this page would be such a gift.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for standing with her in this fight.
