Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my cousin, a kind, determined, and selfless young woman who lives in Pakistan who has been accepted into a university program in London — a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that she’s worked incredibly hard for. But she can’t do it alone.
Living as a woman in Pakistan comes with unique and often overwhelming challenges. The reality is: women there face enormous barriers when it comes to building careers, gaining financial independence, and even just being taken seriously in professional spaces.
Being a woman in Pakistan comes with deep, structural challenges. Jobs are scarce, pay is low, and women are expected to carry not just their own weight, but often their family’s as well — all while being underpaid and overlooked.
Despite all this, she has a job — but the pay is minimal. And yet, she continues to show up. But despite her best efforts, it simply doesn’t pay enough. But somehow, she still shows up every day for her parents, her siblings, her cousins, and even her neighbors. Whether it’s tutoring, caregiving, or simply being someone people can count on — she gives more than she gets, always.
Her father is currently out of work for health reasons, and she helps support her mother and extended family. Every dollar she earns goes toward bills, groceries, and holding the household together. The thought of leaving them behind to study is already a weight on her — but not going would mean letting go of the dream she’s worked so hard for.
Going to London isn’t just about chasing a dream — it’s about changing the course of her life. It’s about coming back with the tools, education, and experience to build something better not only for herself, but for the people she constantly supports. It’s her chance to break the cycle, to finally put herself first — not out of selfishness, but so she can give even more from a place of strength and stability.
But this time, she needs help.
We’re trying to raise money to help with her travel, housing, basic living costs, and to leave behind enough to help keep her family afloat while she’s away.
If you can contribute — whether it’s $10 or $100 — you’re helping someone who has always given so much of herself to others. And if you’re not in a place to donate, simply sharing this would mean so much.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
