Help Me Lay My Father to Rest

My name is Destiny Favors, and on June 17th, my entire world changed. My dad—my only remaining parent, my protector, my rock—passed away suddenly. I’m still in shock as I write this. I’m only 20 years old, a college student just trying to make it through life the best I can. And now, I’m facing the unimaginable—having to plan a funeral for the only parent I had left.

When I was 8 years old, I lost my mother. Since then, it’s been just me and my dad. He did the best he could with what little he had, and while things weren’t always easy, he always made sure I felt loved and supported. He didn’t have life insurance or savings set aside, but he gave me everything he could, including the strength to keep pushing no matter how hard life got.

Now I’m alone, trying to give him the dignity he deserves in death—something respectful, something loving. A proper burial to honor the man who raised me and stood by me when I had no one else.

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help. The cost of a funeral is far beyond what I can manage on my own as a student. Every dollar donated will go toward giving my father the kind of goodbye he deserves—one filled with respect, peace, and love.
