Support Henry Ashida’s Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Henry Ashida, 87, has spent decades capturing the spirit of Crowley County and the Arkansas Valley through his photography, articles, and unwavering support for local youth. Whether he was taking kids to sporting events, making special plaques, or writing heartfelt stories, Henry has always put his community first—often at his own expense.

Recently, while photographing Crowley County’s Homecoming football game, Henry was accidentally struck by an out-of-bounds play. The impact left him with four badly fractured ribs, multiple pelvic fractures, and a pulmonary contusion. After ten days in the hospital and two weeks in the Crowley County Nursing Home, Henry now faces a long and difficult road to recovery. He needs significant home modifications and ongoing care before he can return to living independently. Unfortunately, insurance is not covering all the costs, and finding the right support has been a struggle.

So many generous people have asked how they can help support Henry. We set up this fund for those of you who know how much Henry has sacrificed for this community. Every donation will go directly toward home renovations, medical costs, and equipment to help Henry regain his independence. Your support—no matter the amount—will mean the world to him. Other means of support are also greatly appreciated - a note, high five, special greeting, etc. Thank you for rallying around Henry in his time of need.
