My name is Lindsey and I'm starting this gofundme to help Rachel and Zak continue to provide medical care for Henrik while fighting their insurance.

Henrik went into the emergency vet Monday April 13th with suspected intoxication from getting into some fertilizer. After chatting with poison control and the ER doctors it was determined that this particular fertilizer shouldn't be causing the vomiting he was experiencing. Unfortunately after running some tests and getting Henrik stabilized, the ER team found out Henrik's liver numbers were extreme. A healthy dog should be in the 100-125 range, where Henrik was sitting closer to a 4500!

After multiple days of hospitalization and stabilization care, they were able to see an internal medicine doctor and get Henrik down to 1700. While checking for the cause of his liver values, it was determined that Henrik also had the start of mitral valve disease. There is hope that this was caught early and with lifelong medication and checks, Henrik should stay stable.

Henrik is now comfortably resting at home with his doting family, but now another battle begins. Rachel has paid a expensive price per month to provide Henrik with the best pet insurance over the course of his life. Right now they are telling her they were barely cover anything! We ask for help in donations to cover the $6,000+ in medical bills for Henrik's emergency care. This is a family who planned with insurance payments over the months to be able to manage situations like this, just to be turned away. Rachel will be fighting them but as of right now her and Zak are left with large hospital bills while continuing to give Henrik primary veterinary care.
